Butterflies
Habitat:
Butterflies live in many parts of the world.
In Australia, they live in bushland, farmlands and home gardens.
Description:
Butterflies have six legs, two antennae and four
wings. They can fly, walk, climb and eat.

Food:
Butterflies drink sweet nectar from flowers, using their long tongue (called a proboscis). Caterpillars eat leaves.
Praying mantises and birds eat Butterflies.
Life Cycle:
1st There is an egg.
2nd The egg hatches into a Caterpillar.
3rd The Caterpillar becomes a pupa.
4th A new Butterfly emerges from the pupa.
5th The Adult Butterflies begin to mate.
6th They lay eggs.
