Most grasshoppers are coloured green and brown like the plants around them. They are insects. They have six legs.
Food: plants (especially grasses)
Habitat: You can find grasshoppers living in forests, woods, sand -dunes and in damp marshy places as well as in fields. In hot countries, they live in deserts and tropical rainforests.
Predators: birds, small mammals and people.
