SLATERS

Slaters have 7 pairs of legs. Slaters are arthropods. Slaters can be white, black or brown. Spiders eat them. Slaters live in dirt. they are fast. Slaters lay eggs. An arthropod is an invertebrate animal with a jointed body. Its limbs and outer skin are made of chitin, such as an insect, spider, or crustacean. Isopods vary greatly in appearance and are common inhabitants of many environments. Slaters belong to the very large phylum of crustacea of which most are marine dwellers. Crustacea include such groups as amphipods, beach hoppers, shrimp, crabs, lobsters and crayfish as well as isopods. Slaters are the most conspicuous and are easily recognised by a pink hue. Slaters may range in size but are usually less than 15 millimetres in length.
