Information:

Large stick insects can pinch you with their spiky legs, but most of them are harmless. Some stick insects can produce a stinky fluid from glands along their bodies. A stick insect blends in with leaves and twigs. It waits for its prey. There are over 1000 types of stick insects.

Description:

Stick insects look like twigs. They have 3 legs on each side of their body.They have 2 feelers above their eyes. They have 2 eyes. They are very hard to see. They have 3 body parts: Abdomen, Thorax and a head.

Food:

Stick insects eat leaves.

Life Cycle:

1. Male and female mate.

2. Female lays eggs.

3. Eggs hatch.

4. Baby stick insect.

5. Bigger.

6. Even bigger.

7. Fully grown.

 

Habitat:

Stick insects live in trees. You can find stick insects on your fence.

Predators:

Birds, Spiders and other insects.
